The Afghanistan Foreign Press Association was launched in Kabul at the Mustafa Hotel on May 6 2004.

The original founding article was signed by the founders on July 31 2003.

AFPA meets in Kabul and news is frequently exchanged on the email group which has more than 300 members.

AFPA aims to provide a forum for foreign media professionals working in Afghanistan to meet and exchange views.

AFPA acts as a first port of call for visiting journalists and a source of practical information.
